These students used their PBIS points at the PBIS store to purchase lunch with Mr. Green! He surprised these students with a tasty treat from Sonic!
Meridian CUSD 101 will have an early dismissal on Thursday, May 30th 2024. Students will be dismissed at 9 AM and will be bringing home reports cards. Thank you for another year great year with your children. We hope everyone has a fun and safe summer. We can't wait to see you back August!
Mrs. Hawkins 2nd Grade Class had a "NACHO" Average Reader Party to celebrate their year- long reading accomplishments. They enjoyed nachos, Kool-Aid, dancing, art activities and extra recess. During the party students received awards in Reading, Math, IXL Excellence and more. ALL students reached 50 points or more during the year. Four remaining students were awarded $5.00 in the 4th quarter for reaching the 50 point goal. One student, Ms. Da'Kodah Vaughn earned a total of 107 AR points this year and was awarded $10.00. She is 1 out of 4 students in grade K-5 to reach this achievement. There is also one 4th grader, and two 5th graders to make the 100 Point Club this school year.

Two 5th graders: Tyler Farrell (Dr. Lisa Thomas' class) and KeMaiah Maborn-Jones (Mr. Malcolm Larry's class) received recognition from the Illinois Principals Association for their academic excellence at the 2024 Illinois Principal Association's Student Recognition Dinner.
The 5th grades attended the Arrowleaf - SUPS/TRiO Educational Talent Search: National Prevention Week Activities for 5th Grade Students in Alexander and Pulaski Counties at Shawnee Community College. They engaged in a hands-on STEM experience and toured the college.
The regular meeting of the Meridian Community Unit School District #101 slated for May 21st, 2024 has been moved to Tuesday, May 28th, 2024 at 6pm.
Mr. Hale's 7th graders have worked diligently in U.S. History class to make posters about different topics in American history from early European colonization to the formation of the U.S. Constitution. All of the students' posters were on display, Wednesday, May 15 during 2nd and 3rd period in the classroom.

Congratulations to our Meridian Bobcats and Cole Kauffman for being honor at the Young Hearts with Goals and Purpose Banquet in Marion, Illinois. Our Bobcats were awarded for their outstanding season and Cole Kauffman received a $1000 scholarship for academic excellence.
